MEMBERSHIP

BPRC remains committed to prioritizing support for our Active Duty Community on Oahu. Membership applications are prioritized to focus on that commitment.

Membership applications from Active Duty Members with PCS orders to Oahu , incoming or recent move to Oahu, have the highest priority in review for approval. Membership applications from Active Duty members stationed in Hawaii are next priority for review.

Membership remains open to retired military, active and retired Department of Defense (DOD) personnel, and active and retired reservists.
There are no automatic approvals for membership. All applicants must meet membership requirements as outlined in BPRC House Rules. Applicants are approved by the Board after careful review and consideration.

FEES

Move-In Fee (one time fee per paddock, non-refundable). Annual Membership Fee (due July 1 of each year). Monthly Boarding Fees are due on the first of each month Monthly Board includes; paddock, maintenance and mandatory a.m. & p.m. feedings.

You are required to buy your own hay, grain, shavings etc., pay your own vet and farrier bills, and any other costs associated with owning a horse and being a member of our club.

PROBATION for new members is a minimum of six months Applicant’s membership will be reevaluated at the six month point and probationary period will be extended or member will become a full member.

WORKDAY 

The Board will schedule up to 2 mandatory workdays per year. Participation is mandatory for all members.  Fines are assessed for missing mandatory workdays.

Members have the opportunity to buy-out of mandatory workdays with pre-coordinated request to the Board.

INSURANCE

Proof of current general liability insurance must be on file with BPRC at all times. USEF membership with insurance add on is a viable insurance option. 

VET RECORDS

Horses are required to be vaccinated at least once a year and worming every four months. Exceptions are made for elderly horses.

PADDOCKS must be cleaned at least every other day (manure taken to muck pile)

FEED must be prepared in advance for all meals, BPRC drops feed (a.m. and p.m.)

WATER must be algae free, BPRC will fill but not clean

FINES are assessed if paddock is not cleaned, feed is not prepared, or BPRC dumps dirty water

 SUGGESTIONS to consider when selecting a paddock at BPRC

  1. Size, strength and height of the fencing
  2. Does the Paddock include a Shed or Connex Box
  3. Do you have a feed tub, water tub, and hose
  4. Proximity to Manure Pile
  5. Options for Parking and/or Shade
